On Friday April 4th the Crochet and Knitting Smoup met for the first time. Our group was small, but we had a good time! I worked on crocheting baby hats, while another member worked on knitting a scarf. The Starbucks location worked well for us and with the continued cold weather it was nice to have a hot beverage while we worked. We discussed the possibility of the group taking some field trips to various yarn stores around the city once we have more members, so if anyone has a recommendation for a yarn store should visit please let me know.
Don’t forget that if you don’t know how to knit or crochet, you are welcome to bring along any other small craft project (or even a coloring book!) that can be easily done in a coffee shop. Also, I will happily teach anyone how to crochet and I promise to bring extra yarn and hooks to each meeting for this purpose. I hope more Sunday Assembly members will come out next month to work with us!
For now, future meetings will continue to be on the first Friday of each month, at 6pm at the Starbucks location on Wilson and Kedzie. Look for the people with yarn!
