I’m happy to announce that Sunday Assembly Chicago is back, and our new home is the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center. (4048 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60639) Assemblies start at 11:30am, but show up as early as 11am to get donuts and mingle with the rest of the congregation.

There is plenty of free street parking, (“Pay to Park” is free on Sundays) and the venue is accessible via CTA busses and two nearby Metra stations.

Featured Speaker: Phil Ferguson
“Science Based Investing – How Science and Reason can help you make money and reduce risk.”

Phil Ferguson is an investment advisor representative with 18 years of experience and president of Polaris. Phil is also a long time activist in the secular movement. He has been on the board of The Secular Student Alliance and Atheist Alliance International. He is an active member of many of the national organizations and has helped start three local groups. Phil also give talks to local groups and Large conventions. He has presented at TAM (The Amazing Meeting) and Skepticon – just to name a few. He gives talks on many subjects:

“Homeopathy and the Power of 10”
“Breaking The Cycle – Helping Kids Out of Religion”
“Atheism 101”
“The Bible According to LEGOs”
“Vaccines and the Rise of the Anti-Vax Movement”

Phil’s company Polaris Financial Planning gives at least 10% of gross revenue to promote the secular movement. Polaris was the only corporate sponsor for the reason rally and he supports many conventions each year – Logicon, Reason in the Rock, Apostacon, Skepticon and Humanism at Work are a few examples. Polaris Financial Planning LLC, is a “fee-only” registered investment advisor and does not receive money from anyone other than the paying clients.

As always, our assembly will feature delicious baked goods, great pop music from our band, and most importantly, a godless community where all are welcome.
